elliot vows to beat mr. robot but it aint easy, smh. angela sees behind the scenes at evil corp. sh*t hits fan with fsociety.
Sam Esmail said in an interview that the shooting was designed to establish unequivocally that Tyrell is real. What was fun was the twist that Mr. Robot was determined to convince Elliot that Tyrell was imaginary, and that Elliot didn't know WHAT to believe.

Good to see you! I'm glad it's back, too. Let's get the discussion rolling.
This is always going to be one of those shows that you have to watch more than once to really get what's happening. There was so much moving around, and so much change. It's definitely darker, but there are some interesting parallels among the characters, like Angela and Elliot's use of affirmations to try to convince themselves they are who they want to be. And did you notice Angela has Qwerty, the fish? They made quite a point of that, which was hardly by accident. I'm convinced Angela and Elliot were engaged at one point, or about to be, and she bailed (in his eyes) when he had some sort of break that lead to where he is now, mentally.
Have you seen the reddit discussion about where Elliot's supposedly living? The theories are pretty wild, but they do hang together. I think might start a thread about it.
Gideon's murder was a shocker, I must say. I assume he's dead -- we don't know for sure, but as heavily as he would bleed from that wound, it seems likely. He always was the victim in this piece, and it's a shame; in a sense, he's symbolic of all the innocent people caught in the world of corporate graft. But he's also a lesson to Elliot that his actions have consequences, something he, nor Darlene, ever seem to have considered.
LOVED the smart-house hack. Did you notice Darlene sitting by the fountain as Susan Jacobs jogged through the park? She apparently got in by hacking Jacobs' fitness watch. I've been reading about the vulnerabilities of these Internet of Things devices, and it's pretty scary. I'd considered getting the lights that run on wifi, but now I'm not so sure.
I understand that the next episode lightens things up a bit. That sounds good to me!

I know this sounds weird, but hear me out...
After binge watching the show for 5th time, I noticed something strange. The season finale, during the post credit scene where Whiterose is seen talking to the CEO of Evil Corp. in the mansion where a bunch other wealthy people ( or as Elliot would call them - "The top 1% of the top 1%. The guys that play God without permission." ;) ) are seen socialising, one would assume that Whiterose is working with Evil Corp. all along, right?
Well, maybe... Could it possible that Whiterose could be like a triple agent who is actually on Elliot's side? There was this particular line in that post credit scene that got me suspicious.
Whiterose: "Oh, your troubles are weighing heavily on you. I'm not entirely sure why. I was told that you know the person responsible."
Phillip Price: "Yes, yes. Of course we do. And we'll handle that person as we usually do."
There isn't a doubt that they were talking about Elliot. But this is why I think it's strange. Whiterose knows Elliot ( from the meeting in episode 8 ), but instead of saying Elliot's name to Philip Price he says -" I was told that you know the person responsible."
So basically, he saying that he (at least to some degree) didn't know who initiated the hack. Which means that he's lying. So could it be possible that he is actually working with Elliot as his inside man? I agree that it sounds kinda far fetched, but when you really think about it makes sense.
In episode 8, at the end of meeting with Whiterose, Elliot says - "Why are you working with us?" Whiterose doesn't respond, instead she just smiles. Which could indicate that Whiterose is working with the Evil Corp. or she made some kind of deal with Elliot and he could have forgotten about it. It's seems possible as during this time Elliot completely forgets about his past.
Whiterose isn't going to be some kinda of secondary antagonist in show. With less than 20 minutes of screen time throughout the entire season, he/she is still managed to be an interesting character. I think that Whiterose is going to play a pivotal role in the coming season(s).
Anyways, what do you guys think?
Update: the first run of the pilot was uninterrupted. It appears the second run of the finale will also run that way, given its time slot.

Looks like we may need something more extensive with three Golden Globe nominations this morning!
That doesn't mean he's schizophrenic, and the show has been clear as to what his diagnosis is.
Where is Tyrell is our cliffhanger. Clearly, ECorp was much more in control of the situation than anyone imagined. The question is who is the Chinese man who pretended to be/assumed the identity White Rose? He's obviously in cahoots with ECorp. And what about the time gap Elliot is experiencing? There's your set-up for S2.
Angela being swallowed whole is an interesting metaphor. Or will she be the insider they need? fsociety is going to learn a hard lesson in how naive they are when this plays out next year. I loved the slightly Nazi-esque look of Prince's address to the team after his exec killed himself. It will take a little time to tease out just what all went on in that episode.
The obvious conclusion is that it's Tyrell at the door, unless they introduce a new character. But you never know.

Play! So happy you're here. Claire said she thought you'd enjoy it.
It wasn't about seeing her pee. It was about seeing her exposed. His posture suggested she felate him. He wanted to seduce her, and have something on Scott Knowles, so he approached her where he thought she would be available and vulnerable. By parting her legs, she took back his power, and called his bluff. (A la "Basic Instinct".)
