Plot

Synopsis

<@mrrobot> elliot tries to lead normal life – but pulled back into fsociety. gideon gets suspicious. tyrell plays dirty @ evil corp. I did it 4 the lulz.

Origin of the Title

• Debugging is the process of checking and problem-solving with computer code in order to make it run properly, or to find a bug planted to make functional code run improperly.
• The extension: .mkv is an open-standard file format that holds multiple audio/video tracks in one file. It is used to encode illegal high-definition audio-video files, such as TV episodes or movies, distributed through torrent sites.

Summary

Elliot tries to lead a normal life, but can’t escape fsociety. Gideon, meanwhile, grows suspicious, and Tyrell plays dirty.

After being shoved off the railing in Coney Island by Mr. Robot, Elliot wakes up in a hospital room, badly banged up. Krista, his psychiatrist, is inclined to send him to rehab unless he’s willing to be regularly drug tested. Elliot complies, knowing that he can easily change the hospital records for the tests since he hacked their system long ago. (Source: USA Network)

Tyrell is enraged after he learns that Scott Knowles has been chosen for CTO, and pays a man so he can beat him. Cisco demands that Ollie infect Allsafe with the same CD. Elliot believes he is done with fsociety. Tyrell seduces his boss's male secretary and installs software on his phone. Attempting to be more normal, Elliot asks Shayla to accompany him to a party. She accepts. However, at the party, fsociety leaks Evil Corp's emails that incriminate Colby for covering up a toxic waste leak that caused leukemia in Elliot's father and Angela's mother. Tyrell ties up his pregnant wife and ball-gags her upon her request. Ollie confesses his infidelity and Cisco's demands to Angela who wants him to give in. Elliot returns to fsociety. Episode Notes

• The picture of the dog shown being liked on Instagram is from the page of creator Sam Esmail's girlfriend, Emmy Rossum. The dog is called Cinnamon.
• During their conversation, Joanna and Tyrell speaks Danish and Swedish, respectively.
• Elliott's door is 4F this is also a military term for unfit for service.

Technology

• Tyrell installs Flexispy, a phone spying software, into Anwar's phone after seducing him.
• Windows 98 is a Microsoft computer operating system released in 1998, and used by Elliott's primary care facility. With extended support ending in 2006, the hospitals operating systems have not had security updates for almost a decade, making it "almost too easy to hack".
