Sam Esmail is the creator, writer, and executive producer for USA's new psychological thriller called Mr. Robot (TV Series), his first television series.
After he graduated from YU's Tisch School of the Arts, Esmail attended the American Film Institute's directing program where he received his Master of Fine Arts. In 2008, he wrote his first feature screenplay, "Sequels, Remakes & Adaptations," which landed on the Black List, a survey taken by more than 600 production companies and film financier executives about their most liked screenplays.
The following year, "Norm the Movie" was his second Black List script. His feature directorial debut, "Comet," was released through the IFC cable network last year.
