History[]
Darlene attempts to steal a car so that she can go looking for Elliot, but before she can complete the task she is accosted by a drunk Santa, Tobias, telling her to stop stealing his car. Darlene negotiates with Tobias, saying that he is too drunk to drive, so she will drive him home if she can borrow his car after she can get him home. He agrees and they talk on the way, getting to know each other. Tobias volunteers as a Santa at a hospital for child cancer patients, which puts Darlene in a melancholy mood. Tobias talks about how it's so hard trying to cheer up the children who are "born to die", and while he's saying this will probably be the last time he does it, Darlene sees some painkillers in his hand. He mentions that it's even hard since his wife was in an accident. Darlene gets the impression Tobias is suicidal because his wife is dead.
When they arrive at Tobias' home, they see a car similar to the one they're driving in the driveway and Tobias remembers that his friend drove him to the hospital. They say goodbye but Darlene runs after him, thinking he is about to overdose on painkillers. Tobias explains his wife's accident was yesterday when she put her back out putting up Christmas decorations, and the painkillers are for her. Darlene opens up about her worries about Elliot, and feeling alone because all of her family and friends are dead except for him, and they are estranged. Tobias consoles her and they part ways, with Tobias' wife coming out to greet him, with him saying "Ho Ho Ho, Santa's home". (“404 Not Found”)
