Whiterose is a hacker affiliated with the Dark Army. Xe is a Chinese transgender woman with an obsession for managing xyr time. When xe and Elliot Alderson meet, xe gives Elliot three minutes to discuss the attack on E Corp. Xyr motivations are not explicitly explained and when Elliot asks why xe is helping fsociety xe does not reply has Elliot had exceeded his allocated three minutes.
Whiterose's public identity is as a man, Minister Zheng, the Chinese Minister of State Security. In this capacity, xe hosts an FBI investigative team looking into the hacking of E Corp's Chinese back-ups.
Interaction with Phillip Price
In the final scene of the Season 1 finale, Whiterose has a discussion with Phillip Price regarding Elliot and the hackers. In this scene, xe has much shorter cut hair, a suit, and behaves with the mannerisms of a male business executive. Notably, she keeps her watch and signature minute timer.
During the FBI reception at Whitehorse's house (“eps_2.3”), Agent Dominique DiPierro, while looking for a bathroom is lost and ends up in a room full of clocks. Whiterose appears and explaines to Diperio that she keeps so many clocks around for a constant reminder of mortality. Later, Whiterose takes Diperio to her room and shows her traditional Chinese dresses made of the most expensive materials with the finest details. When Diperio asks who those dresses belong to, Whiterose answers those are her sisters. The next day, Diperio recalls this interaction to her colleague and mentions that Whiterose does not have a sister confirming that Minister Zheng is in fact the public identity of Whiterose.
