Mr. Robot Wiki

After the recap fades to red, Elliot says "Hello, friend." He is surprised to be talking to the viewer again, surprised that he survived what happened at the power plant. He wonders where Mr. Robot is. Elliot wakes up on the ground as it appears to begin to shake. He gets up in an empty parking lot by the forest. He notes that it appears to be where the power plant was, but he sees a sign for the forthcoming Washington Township Community Center. He tells himself there's no way the Whiterose's machine worked. Elliot walks away toward the town. He passes under the idyllic archway of Washington Township, filled with a bunch of happy people and white cars.

Elliot sees a Mr. Robot computer repair store. He remembers that it's been gone for 20 years since his father, Edward, died. He enters the empty store. Edward says that he'll be out soon from the back. Elliot is alarmed by the voice. He checks a cell phone on the counter, seeing a family photo of Edward, Magda, and a young Elliot as the background. Elliot peeks in the back and sees Edward. Recognizing his monster, he leaves before Edward can come out and find his phone on the floor.

Later, Edward locks up his store while Elliot watches from across the street. Elliot follows Edward home, recognizing his old house and his neighborhood. Elliot stops a little girl on a scooter, who recognizes him. Elliot hides behind the bushes as Edward gets into his car and leaves. Elliot's nose is bleeding. He asks the little girl about his sister, Darlene, but she tells him he has no sister. Magda comes outside to get the mail and invites her son inside for lunch. She tells him that his dad went into the city and hugs him.

Inside the house, Magda has changed the curtains. Elliot sees family photos on the wall, his adult self with Edward, but Darlene is nowhere to be seen in the family photos. He notes to himself that Magda doesn't sound like his mom; she's loving. He thinks about his alternate family and his alternate past. He goes upstairs to check on the window he jumped out of. Where his room was in a closet. In his bedroom, he asks Magda if she remembers an accident where he broke his arm when he was eight. She denies his ever breaking his arm. They sit on the bed. Elliot asks if she or his father ever hurt him. She says that they would never hurt him and that they love him. She asks if this is about Angela or her parents. Internally, Elliot is surprised to hear that she's alive. Magda starts talking about the wedding tomorrow. He asks where Angela is.

Elliot takes the train into the city, asking the viewer if they buy that the world has actually changed. Elliot won't believe it until he sees Angela. He goes to her apartment. Phillip Price answers the door and puts on a tough-father-in-law schtick. Emily Moss arrives and invites Elliot in. Phillip and Emily are there for the wedding. Elliot says that he just came over to see Angela. Phillip makes drinks. Emily says that Angela is meeting them for lunch and Elliot should join them. Emily begins to hype up their wedding. Elliot sees a collage on the wall, a gift from Angela to Elliot, pictures of them as a happy couple. He has fantasized about this before: marriage and happiness. Phillip proposes a toast with their drinks. Emily sees on her phone that "Elliot" is calling and shows Elliot. Phillip thinks it's a prank Elliot is pulling. Elliot insists that he answer and hears his voice asking for Emily. Elliot is spooked. A tremor shakes the apartment and Elliot drops his glass. Emily cuts her hand picking up the shards. Elliot runs out.

On the street, Elliot is confused about his possible other self, the one who is engaged to Angela. He goes to his apartment and knocks. Inside, he concludes from the settings that they are not the same. Elliot looks through everything. He hacks into the computer, finding an encrypted drive partition. Based on the other Elliot's social media, he seems like a well adjusted guy without any anxiety issues or paranoia. Our Elliot thinks he's too perfect and happy to be true. He finds secret files. They are images labeled "fsoc." They are drawings of hoodie Elliot, Darlene, Romero, Trenton, Mobley, the arcade, the Dark Army—everything from our Elliot's world.

Other Elliot enters the apartment and is alarmed. He threatens to call the police. Our Elliot takes his phone and gives his birthplace and date, his face being the ultimate proof. Our Elliot asks the Other Elliot about the sketches. Other Elliot realizes that hoodie Elliot is from the drawings. They sit. Other Elliot says that he creates the drawings when he's bored. He's a superhero: analyst by day, hacker by night. fsociety is some dumb hacker group name he came up with. Our Elliot asks him about why he created this person. Other Elliot says that he sometimes fantasizes about being him. But the character is angry and alone. Realizing he was describing the person in front of him, other Elliot apologizes. Our Elliot agrees with his assessment in his own head with the viewer, which Other Elliot hears. Our Elliot moves to leave. Other Elliot grabs him and a tremor shakes the apartment. Other Elliot cracks his head against the radiator. Our Elliot is concerned, as the other Elliot is bleeding out.

He is about to call the police for help when Angela calls. She thanks him for the book that Other Elliot gifted her. Elliot tries to tell her that he isn't who she thinks he is. He lost her. Thinking he's getting cold feet, Angela reminds him that the wedding is tomorrow and that they can be together. She asks if he loves her. He says he always has. They agree to start their new life tomorrow as Our Elliot hangs up.

Other Elliot mumbles for help. He can't move. Our Elliot doesn't want to lose Angela again. Our Elliot kills Other Elliot, telling the viewer to look away. Elliot concludes that the earthquakes were a sign that both of them can't exist in the same world.
